The recipients of Glossier’s Black-owned beauty business grant are finally here! 

It is known that for Black-owned brands, whether in fashion or beauty, funding and resources are substantially scarcer, which makes it harder for businesses to thrive. Back in June, Glossier committed to putting their money where their mouth is and announced it’d “begin to address this inequity and support the next generation of game-changing companies.” 

To start that, the company pledged $1 million: $500,000 in donations to organizations fighting racial injustice and another $500,000 in the form of grants to Black-owned beauty brands. Glossier opened up applications for the grant on June 11 and received close to 10,000 applications in under a month, a number that surpassed their expectations.
