Model Joan Smalls is taking a stand and pledging to donate half her salary for the remainder of 2020 to organizations supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.

As noted by British Vogue, on June 11, Joan delivered an impactful statement regarding the fashion industry and media via an Instagram video, urging her peers to “do more” than simply post a black square in their feed or say they’ll “do better.”

“It’s time for us to see the change starting from the ground up.
