Due to the global coronavirus outbreak, the 2020 CFDA Awards have officially been postponed.

The CFDA confirmed the news in an announcement issued on March 18 and posted on its website. The announcement stated that after carefully analyzing the situation and speaking with public health officials, postponing the event was the right choice to make. “The COVID-19 outbreak is bringing many challenges to fashion designers in both their personal lives and professional operations,” the organization wrote in the announcement. The ceremony usually takes place on the first Monday in June. As such, this year’s edition was scheduled to take place on June 8.
